Important New Information About Applying to a Police Services Board Member Position for the Province of OntarioAs of January of this year, in order to apply to be a provincial appointee to a police services board you must apply through the new Public Appointments Secretariat Web Site. This change in process was launched at the beginning of this year as part of the government’s initiative to be more open and accessible and to work to ensure government reflects the true face of Ontario. The web site is an active portal to about 4,800 special purpose body positions, including police services board member for the province’s 630 agencies, boards and commissions. The web site is to provide user-friendly access to the government appointments process. All persons applying to serve on any government Agency, Board or Commission must apply through the Public Appointments Secretariat. Once you have figured out how to navigate the web site you can select a specific police services board and learn a bit about the Board, where to find out more information about the Board and the current Provincial members of the board and their terms. You can also apply online using this web site.
