Information Session on Bill 103

Date: Friday, April 4th, 2008
Location: Tosca Banquet Hall, Oshawa, Ontario

The Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police Networking Committee is pleased to announce an Information Session on Bill 103, the amendments to the Police Services Act, which will be held at the Tosca Banquet Hall in Oshawa on April 4. The Information Session will bring together policing professionals from across the province in a forum designed to inform attendees on the theory in support of the recent changes to the police complaints system, to provide a detailed explanation of the amendments themselves and to discuss best practices in preparation for the implementation of the Bill.

This session will feature Guest Speakers:

  • The Honourable Chief Justice Patrick J. LeSage CM, QC
Former Chief Justice of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice
Counsel with Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP
  • Ian B. Johnstone, LLB
Counsel with Matthews, Dinsdale & Clark LLP

Who Should Attend?
OACP plays a key role in the province in providing Local, Provincial and Federal law enforcement agencies a forum to exchange ideas and best practices. This trusted forum would provide information that can be taken back to your Service to be shared with others. The seminar is geared to Police Chiefs and Police Services Board members and would be of particular interest to Professional Standards Unit investigators, Hearing Prosecutors and Hearing Officers.
